about

A demo part of the 'Songs for People Collection,' this song was written for Dagmar. As well as being a big practical help for me and for my concerts in Germany, Dagmar is a friend. On tour one time I was experiencing anxiety attacks and in some spare time I took myself off to her home on an island in North Germany where she lives. She welcomed me with open arms and was a great comfort.

lyrics

When anxiety attacks
And I know where I must go
These city streets seem empty

The train goes through the sea
There’s water on both sides
And your heart will greet me

I never thought I’d feel so tight
In my chest as I breath at night
This casing seems more fallible than I had first felt
You have words to ease my fall
Wisdom for a fragile soul
And graciously you walk me to some rest

As we share this table's space
Talk life and hope; regrets
I just say Thank you

The dunes they can’t be touched
Fences round the marram grass
Yet this island finds a way to overcome it’s stresses

sounds sing along the shores
Bring songs and open hearts
You welcome and help me
